ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born and raised in South Jersey, Joy pursued her passion for art through a variety of crafts from music to modeling to wardrobe styling, graphic design, photography, videography, and creative direction. After freelancing and collaborating with other artists in Philadelphia, Joy’s love for photography continued to grow. She eventually began drafting plans for “The BAWDY Series” — a collection of work that would represent a visual diary of her personal and artistic journey.
In 2018, Joy partnered with several local artists to bring her vision to life. To show appreciation for the community that helped support her journey, she concepted, planned and produced an art exhibit in Philadelphia to showcase the full collection, as well as the work of 12 other NJ and Philly artists and entrepreneurs.
After the success of The BAWDY Series, Joy has continued to push the boundaries to expand her skills and knowledge of production. In 2021, Joy stepped into the creative ad agency world as a Social Producer. Her role transitioned to Project Manager where she would develop and implement processes for teams tasked with social, digital, and experiential projects and campaigns. Joy has managed small and large teams, collaborating with a variety of clients including Google, TikTok, YouTube Music, Hulu x Onyx Collective, Hennessy, and Marriott to name a few.
Joy’s experience in creative project management has allowed her to provide a wider, more well-rounded service to her photography clientele. She has continued to parallel her work as a photographer working with brands and entrepreneurs, as well as music artists like Maeta and Tone Stith.
As a first generation Filipina in the US, Joy has overcome a number of challenges in both her artistic and professional career. Her work reflects the years of passion and determination to forge her own path in hope that it inspires and provides guidance and comfort to others that connect with her story.
